Celebrate ‘Back to the Future’ Day with a DeLorean in NYC

In honor of Back to the Future Day – the day Marty McFly and Dr Emmett “Doc” Brown chose to travel forward in time from 1985 in Back To The Future Part II – Lyft is offering free DeLorean rides Wednesday, October 21st in New York City.

Users can choose “McFly Mode” on the Lyft app from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM to schedule a ride. You might be wondering how the company will keep up with the demand. Well, according to a Lyft spokesperson, they are shipping DMC-12s from around the country to keep up with fans.

Can’t make it to NYC? Maybe you can get to Reston, Virginia instead. The D.C. suburb is changing its name to Hill Valley for the day and will screen a special 30th Anniversary edition of Back to the Future Part II with actor Christopher Lloyd and screenwriter Bob Gale in attendance.

Even if you’re stuck at home tomorrow, you can still get in the spirit of the day thanks to Amazon which is giving Prime members the chance to watch all three Back to the Future movies for free all month!
