Unless you’ve been off in a galaxy far, far away, you’ve probably heard that Star Wars: Episode VIII has begun filming at Pinewood Studios in London.

According to Disney’s official statement, “Rey took her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and will continue her epic journey with Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the continuing Star Wars saga, Star Wars: Episode VIII, which began principal photography at Pinewood Studios in London on February 15, 2016.”

But, what you might not have heard is where the movie will be filming next. The head of the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Hrvoje Hribar, has confirmed Episode VIII will be filming in Dubrovnik, Croatia for a few days in March.

“It is one very beautiful deal for us and for Dubrovnik, filming will not last long but it will be the biggest investment for filming (per day) ever. Investment of 38 million euros for those that like to count money. I mention that for those who deal with the state budget, who will benefit from this deal, as well of course as Dubrovnik,” Hribar said.

This will likely be just one of many upcoming locations for the new movie as the Star Wars films aren’t afraid to go to the world’s most exotic locations for the right setting.

Are you excited Episode VIII is finally filming?
