Yesterday, Maze Runner star Dylan O’Brien was injured on the set of the latest film in the hit franchise.

The actor was filming The Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver when he was hurt. The studio’s official statement says only that O’Brien “was injured yesterday while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment.” TMZ is also reporting the actor was “run over” by a car and broke several bones.

Author James Dashner confirmed on Twitter that O’Brien was hurt but his injuries were “not life threatening in any way.”

The movie, due for release on Feb, 17, 2017, follows O’Brien’s character, Thomas, as he embarks on a mission to find a cure to a deadly disease known as the “Flare.”

Production on the film shut down yesterday and will remain down until O’Brien recovers.

  1. Thank you for sharing this. I really hope that everything will be fine and that the filming of this film will continue. It’s a shame that this happened during filming. Despite the fact that this is a very interesting series of films, the health of the actors themselves is still more valuable than the film. I really hope that he feels it and that the company will not put pressure on him regarding the timing of recovery. Fans of this saga, I think, will be able to wait and thus support the actor. So we can only wish him good health and further success in the work on the film.
