‘Fast 8’ filming to take place in Ohio next month

As filming wraps up on the first leg of production in Iceland, Fast & Furious 8 is headed to another unlikely location – Cleveland, OH.

According to local reports, Fast 8 will be filming in Northeast Ohio next month, and they are looking for local crew members.

“The Second Unit of Fast 8 is requesting submissions for local crew and vendors for its upcoming Cleveland shoot,” the Cleveland Film Commission posted. “Those interested may contact the production by email only at fast82u@gmail.com.”

Given the Cleveland shoot will mostly be second unit (bad news for fans hoping to spot Vin Diesel around town) the city will likely only be filling in for New York City, where most of the movie will be set and filmed. It is not uncommon for big budget productions to film their stunt scenes in smaller cities, where it is easier to shut down roads.

In addition to Iceland, New York and Cleveland, Fast 8 will also film in Atlanta and, possibly, Cuba in the coming weeks.

Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris are all expected to return for the sequel.
