Want to be in the Coen Brothers TV Show? Here’s your chance!

The Coen brothers will begin work on their first TV show, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, in New Mexico this summer and they will be looking for extras for the project this weekend.

An open casting call will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Far Horizon Studio, 304 Washington SE in Albuquerque.

The production is looking for individuals to play frontiersmen, prairie folk, pioneers, horse riders (especially Native American riders), as well as men with beards and facial hair of all kinds, women with long hair (not obviously dyed hair, no highlights), and children of all ages.

“We encourage those who are interested to begin growing hair and facial hair now,” the show’s casting company said in a statement.

The anthology western, which will follow six different story lines, will primarily be shot in the Santa Fe area.

This won’t be the first visit to the area for the duo. The Coen brothers shot both True Grit and No Country for Old Men in the state. They also aren’t the only filmmakers looking to make it big on TV, too. According to Variety, David O. Russell is currently working on a series for Amazon starring Julianne Moore and Robert De Niro, while J.J. Abrams is writing and directing a limited series with Meryl Streep that is currently being shopped to the networks.

If you cannot make the casting call, register at egcasting.com or send a recent photo with height, weight and phone number to castingabq@gmail.com.
