7:00 pm PT
Los AngelesIn Person:

Emily Deschanel, “Dr. Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan”
Tamara Taylor, “Dr. Camille Saroyan” (schedule permitting)
T.J. Thyne, “Dr. Jack Hodgins”
Michaela Conlin, “Angela Montenegro”
Hart Hanson, Executive Producer / Writer
Stephen Nathan, Executive Producer / WriterStill going strong as it approaches the conclusion of its season number six, Fox’s Bones focuses on the brilliant (though socially challenged) forensic anthropologist/novelist Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan (Emily Deschanel) as she assists FBI agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) in his criminal investigations, centering on the identification of decomposed or otherwise disguised human remains. Viewers are treated to not only the cerebral challenges involving the case of the week, but also the will-they-or-won’t-they mystery driving the relationship between Bones (inspired by real-life forensic anthropologist/novelist Kathy Reichs) and Booth. USA Today noted that what distinguishes Bones from so many other forensic-based shows is that it is “built on a more traditional and solid foundation: the strength of its characters.” Join us for a preview screening of the season finale, followed by a Q&A with the cast and creative team.

An Evening with Fringe
Thursday, May 19, 2011
7:00 pm PT
Los AngelesIn Person:
Anna Torv, “Olivia Dunham”
John Noble, “Dr. Walter Bishop”
Additional panelists to be announced.Fox’s Fringe, recently renewed for a fourth season, just gets better with age. After starting out as an X-Files-derivative series about an FBI division specifically charged with investigating paranormal mysteries, Fringe (created by J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci) has evolved into a uniquely sublime blend of mind-bending story lines (parallel universes, doppelgangers, a guru who operates out of a bowling alley, etc.); inventive, ambitious artistry (including, most recently, the integration of chunks of animation into an episode—fitting for a series so decisively influenced by comic books); and powerful character drama that, as the A.V. Club has pointed out, infuses the series with “unexpected soulfulness.” The cast, led by Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, and John Noble, is masterful; join them for the premiere screening of an episode, followed by a Q&A.

An Evening with Southland
Tuesday, May 31, 2011
7:00 pm PT
Los AngelesIn Person:
Ben McKenzie, “Officer Ben Sherman”
Regina King, “Detective Lydia Adams”
Michael Cudlitz, “Officer John Cooper”
Shawn Hatosy, “Detective Sammy Bryant”
John Wells, Executive Producer
Christopher Chulack, Executive ProducerDubbed “commendably stinting and cold, a series that doesn’t aim to please, and is all the more pleasurable for it” by the New York Times, Southland is a Los Angeles–set police procedural following in the glorified tradition of such shows as Dragnet, Police Story, and The Shield. Positioned as a “raw and authentic look” at a particular LAPD unit, the series explores both the personal and professional lives of the crimefighters, in addition to the stories behind the criminals and victims who circle in their orbit. Southland is one of those rare shows that begins life on a broadcast network—in this case NBC—and then moves over to basic cable, which is what happened when TNT picked up the series and commissioned new episodes in 2010. Join us as we screen a series of highlights from the series, followed by a Q&A with the cast and creative team.
