GIRLS WHO ROCK 2011, benefiting She’s the First, is an annual concert in NYC that aims to bring together the strongest voices in technology, entertainment, and design to advocate and fundraise for girls’ education worldwide.
Did you know that of the 130 million youth who are out of school in the world, 70% are girls? And yet less than two cents of every development dollar goes to girls? Girls’ education doesn’t get the funding it deserves and this is where GIRLS WHO ROCK comes into play! The concert is a partnership with the not-for-profit organization She’s the First (shesthefirst.org) and sponsors girls’ education in developing world countries, while mentoring local student volunteers to be leaders.
This event will take place on Friday night, June 10, at Gramercy Theater during Internet Week New York!
