Sylvester Stallone is returning to New Orleans this spring, along with longtime friend Arnold Schwarzenegger.
According to sources the aging action stars are joining forces for the prison-break drama “The Tomb,” which puts Stallone and Schwarzenegger in prison, where Stallone, an expert in “structural security”, must figure out how to break out of a prison of his own design after being framed for a crime.
Schwarzenegger will play “a complex inmate who fights to keep the prisoners from losing their humanity in their darkest hour as they struggle together to stay alive.”
While Stallone signed onto the project in October, it wasn’t until Feb. 8th that Schwarzenegger’s involvement and the production’s intention to shoot in Louisiana were announced.
Emmett-Furla Films is co-producing “The Tomb” with Mark Canton’s Atmosphere Entertainment. The movie will be directed by Swedish filmmaker Mikael Hafstrom (“1408,” “The Rite”).
Summit Entertainment has worldwide rights to the project and will release the movie domestically.
Production is set to begin in Louisiana this spring. Check out more productions filming in Louisiana this spring at Louisiana Film.
UPDATE: According to an update from Louisiana Film, the shoot will take place from April 16, 2012 to June 15, 2012 in New Orleans.
