It looks like production for Thor 2: The Dark World is heating up as more casting calls and filming location details are becoming available.
First, Bleeding Cool has learned that many of the scenes filmed in London will be shot underground.
Some long tunnels in London will be used for the filming of scenes that, as yet, we haven’t been able to confirm as taking place on Earth, on Asgard or elsewhere. A long tunnel is a long tunnel, though, and when it’s dressed it could be anywhere. But a good long shot, down a real, long tunnel can’t be easily faked on a soundstage.
Bleeding Cool doesn’t say exactly which tunnels they’ll be using for Thor 2, but they may very well be one of these.
Screen Rant ha also posted a few new casting calls for Thor 2 this week, including one for “Girls with “Hot Bodies” to be extras for major movie”, “Women with Military experience aged 18 to 50”, “Men with Military experience aged 18 to 50”, and “Men of Fire.” You can see (and apply for) all upcoming casting calls at Universal Extras and Casting Collective.
And, ComingSoon.net has some information about filming taking place in the Bourne Wood area in August and September. According to a letter residents received recently, a temporary set will be constructed in the “bowl” area. You can see the complete letter that went out to locals here.

I’m glad they are not just calling it Thor 2.
It may be that Malkeith and the dark elves are involved but there are other dark things both in (and out) of Asgardian mythology. Earlier reports suggested that all of the nine worlds would be involved.
