Warner Bros. has been very cautious to keep prying eyes away from the Michigan set of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, so fans were extra excited to get their very first glimpse at the movie during Comic-Con.
Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot and director Zack Snyder all surprised Comic-Con audiences on Saturday morning with the first footage of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as a look at Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman’s updated suits.
Here’s how Variety described the first footage:
Superman’s red eyes stared down Batman’s phosphorescent white ones in the teaser from Warner Bros. Batman, played by Affleck, unveiled his newest night sky bat sign, and as the camera moved, Superman, played by Cavill, hovered in its way, frothing and red eyes ablaze.
Awkward silence and brooding ensues, but the packed house of 6,500 loved it so much that moderator Chris Hardwick played the footage again.
Snyder and his actors let the footage speak for itself, only saying, “We have to go back to finish the movie,” before they all walked off stage.
