Where was ‘Fantastic Four’ filmed?

This weekend, 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four is expected to win the box office, less than a year after the movie wrapped filming in Baton Rouge.

After briefly filming in Vancouver, Fantastic Four moved to Louisiana where a few scenes shot were a the Office of State Buildings in Baton Rouge, along with a few other locations around the city, but the majority of the movie was filmed at Celtic Studios.

The Baton Rouge studio is becoming one of the most popular soundstages for blockbusters, thanks to Louisiana’s killer film incentives.

Other projects filmed at Celtic in recent years include Beautiful Creatures, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2, Battleship and Oblivion.

Currently, the studio is hosting MTV’s Scream and WGN America’s Underground, starring Chris Meloni and One Tree Hill’s James Lafferty in a recurring role.

Fantastic Four, starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell, hits theaters on Aug. 7.

Celtic Studios doesn’t offer tours, yet. But, you can learn more about the facility at celticmediacentre.com.

  1. No wonder the movie bombed. How on earth could they film the Fantastic Four anywhere but New York City? The FF lives in New York (at the Baxter Building), operate out of New York… It’s a New York story. Yet they shoot it in Louisiana?? Well, taking the cheap route didn’t work so well, did it? It’s not as if NYC wasn’t sitting right there, waiting to be used as the obvious location for the movie.
